Yes, they know the acceptance deadline is May 1. They do seem to move slowly. Last year we didn't get our 'sorry, you were not accepted' letter until April 20, or thereabouts. OTOH, we didn't hear about merit scholarships at #1 school until April 1+. I think part of the problem with hearing so late is us. As business folks we're used to making decisions quickly and locking plans down. Waiting is not our forte. Looking back we actually still had plenty of time left to make our decisions. Also, having plan B in place in early April helped. Seems to me that's the way the college application process works. Many top notch schools dont send acceptance letters until April 1 and most don't have financial aid decisions until then either. (although the truly outstanding athletes and students generally know much earlier).
You still have time to wait on NROTC decision. I'm sure you won't let DS cut off his nose to spite his face. Unfortunately, as much as we want to there is no way we can hurry this. I do wish Navy was a bit quicker though. Frankly, IMHO, they should be shooting for all notifications to take place by April 1. That would put them in line with everything else.
