Hey, does anyone have any little tips and tricks to help me through field training? (things to bring, tips to save time, ways to make life easier, ect.) My POC have been extremely helpful so far. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks

If your at the point of preparing for FT, you probably already know all that I know.

What I gathered from the 200's was:

1. Work out like an absolute mad man.
2. Have the D&C memorized. Also have your command voice down. No one wants to sound like a panzy while calling commands in front of the FTO's.
3. Know how to make your bunk perfectly in the dark.

When it comes for packing, I know that if it is not on the list of things they tell you to bring, don't even think about bringing it.

Other than that, just show up ready to have one hell of a month! :thumb:

Sun tan lotion, wide-brim hat, O-Club passes, bermuda shorts, and a nice pair of stylish but versatile huaraches. :thumb:

Know how to make your bunk perfectly in the dark.

There is an easy solution to this, learn how to sleep on top of your bed without covers! This way will allow you to get up in the morning and just flatten out the spot you slept on!

No lie, many people will tell you that is what they did.

Granted, I went to camp many years ago; however, I distinctly remember being required to get under the covers and mess up the blankets and sheets.

Don't forget the most important thing! Your golf clubs! You can cut it down to a Hybrid Wood-low Iron, your 5 iron, a Pitching wedge, and a putter to save travel space for the rest of your luggage.

I tried this when I went 28 years ago :)eek:), and got gigged for it. Anyone with more "recent" experience try this?
