Spoke to my son last night. He loves the Army. My son said that being fit is crucial before you go. Seems that staying in shape is always important thru ROTC and then the Army. They are running four 7 minute miles each morning. I think that is a target time. He been keeping up with this Captain who is really fast. Ruck marches, etc. He is doing well with that. A few are are struggling but most are good to go. Spent this week on weapons training. The Cadre have been impressive. Really good people.

Looks like it's hot and rainy at Ft. Benning. At least the climate should be moderate for Ranger School.

Hello EDelahanty,
I hope you are well. Busy summer for Cadet Delehanty. Does he start Ranger Challenge in August? That will really help him over the next few years.

My son told me today he is a long way from Vermont. Georgia is a beautiful state. It is hot. He is drinking water constantly even in his apartment. Hydration is key. You have problems at IBOLC if you fall out of line because you are not hydrated. His advice is to drop the muscle building powders and tobacco chew long before you are doing this there or anywhere in the warm climates. Those things just pull the water out of you. He has seen it happen to others. They fall out of line. That stuff is crap anyway. It is serious business.

They found out their posts and regiments, for after ranger school, the last couple of days. He was happy with the news.
