Is it true that Bancroft Hall can tell whether someone is tricking the air conditioning system by placing something warm on the metal covering the thermostat? I have heard that people have been fried for doing so in an attempt to keep their room cool. Is this true or only rumor? If that is the case, I certainly do not want to do it. However, it would be nice to have a comfortable room. Thanks.

Srsly? LOL C'mon, don't be playin' around. Not even pulling it with your cell battery either. Its not worth it. You do realize that other people read here right?

What are you talking about? We used to do that all the time for the heat (with cold water). I think the AC was installed while I was there (in the 6 wings that had been updated), but they never turned it on. I guess it was to be fair to the people in wings without AC, but it sucked in the summer. Sweating and sticking to your sheets. Good times.

But, no, I don't know if they can monitor it. Try it, and see if you get fried. Is it in MIDREGS? If not, for what would they fry you? And Jamzmom, fried doesn't mean electrocuted.
