Our local club found an ingenious way around the privacy issues. They emailed the BGO Area Coordinator (whose contact info is publicly available) and asked him/her to ask the BGOs to forward the invite to their candidates who had accepted their appointments.
Thus, the only people who had access to the candidate names/contact info were BGOs, who already had it. The Parents' Club only got names of people who replied to them regarding the invitation, and thus presumably were comfortable sharing their contact info. The Club did not even get access to BGO names or contact info -- unless the BGOs accepted the invite to attend the event.
Of course, the Club could not "force" either the AC or the BGOs to forward the invite and there was no assurance that all of the BGOs actually did pass it along. Still, it seemed a solution that respected privacy but still got out their invitation.
