You apply for one scholarship. On the application it will ask you to list a number of schools, used to be 7, not sure how many now. these schools must be on the list of approved schools that have ROTC. If you are listing certain majors like engineering then you have to list approved schools with engineering programs. List the schools in the order of preference from 1 to 7. Your application is reviewed by a board, there are 3 boards. If you are selected for a scholarship you will be notified as to which school the scholarship was awarded. It used to be that an applicant could be awarded a scholarship to as many as 5 schools and you could then choose, that was not the case last year, many applicants received scholership awards to only 1 or 2 schools and not always the top choice.

Select your schools carefully, your chances go down if you only have very competitive schools on your list or if they are all expensive out of state or private schools. Make sure that you have a better then average chance of being accepted to the schools you list, getting awarded an AROTC Scholarship does not guarantee admission to the school, for most schools it does not help that much. Many applicants last year received scholarships to schools they were not admitted to and had to go through a transfer process, tranfers are not always a success and are getting harder each year.

There has been a lot of discussion on this forum about school selections, take some time to read through some of the old threads.

Good luck to you.
