I was originally declined the AIM program. However, I was encouraged to continue with the application. I just got back from West Point's SLS and American Legion Boys State. I got a call last night that I am accepted to AIM for the first week. I simply cant go for many reasons. The most important being that I will be in the Carribbean with my parents.

Will my decision to decline AIM affect my chances of acceptance?

No...declining your spot at AIM will not have any impact on your Class of 2017 application or chances of being tendered an appointment; however, why did you say that you wanted to be on the waiting list for an AIM spot if you weren't going to be available?

I never asked to be placed on a waiting list nor did I speak to anybody after I received my letter that I was not invited. I have no idea as to why I was even called and asked. My SAT's were sent there just last week. Other than that I never asked to be placed on any list because after I got declined my parents booked my trip.
