So I just caught the flu and R-day is in three days. Where do I stand? Do I just tough it out or should I advise the cadre ahead of time? I appreciate the input.

Advise cadre or MALO or someone. R day will be difficult enough without the flu and it's not worth the risk of others getting sick too

Hydrate like crazy and take plenty of drugs to keep that temperature down. Hopefully it starts to subside and come R-day in 3 days you are on the tail end. If you still have a temperature let them know at medical at in processing. It isn't a show stopper, but something the cadre will need to know about to ensure you are hydrated and not making everyone else sick. Judge how you feel in 3 days. If it is a 24 hour thing you may feel alot better come R day and not an issue at all.

Get your butt on the line. You will absolutely regret it because you had the flu. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I went to my I-Day with Bronchitis, now I'm a 2/C with no regrets. Do it push through, trust me going through R-Day with the flu is just the begining of 4 years of toughing it out.

Are you doctor-diagnosed with the flu, or is it just a self-diagnosis? You may have a cold. People misdiagnose themselves with the flu all the time. I would think the flu would be much more difficult to deal with at R day and be of more concern to the institution than if you have a cold. If it's a cold, in 3 days you would be much better if you concentrate on sleep and fluids.

It is a self diagnosis but also a frequent seasonal occurrence in my area (I've had it before). I've actually been imobilized since Tuesday morning and taking dayquil/nyquil, lots of fluids, fruits, etc. May not be strictly labeled a flu but my symptoms are similar:

Systemic weakness, fatigue, sporadic fever, loss of appetite, muscle sensitivity/pain (no congestion or throat soreness whatsoever).

1. You need to seek medical care today.

2. IF you have not already, you need to call ADMISSION ASAP.
EMail also your admissions officer, since it's already Fri Evening.

Admissions will provide you with clear instructions and are the only ones who can help you.
A few years ago a young lady got sick on her way to West Point. She called the day prior and they got her the medical care she needed.

One more thing - flu as in influenza is an odd virus to get this time of year. Don't self diagnose this.

Sinus infection

You may also have a sinus infection that can be easily remedied with antibiotics. But I agree you must push yourself and go!
