Hello, I'm trying to get an Army ROTC scholarship and a requirement is to have interviews with the colleges of my choice. Unfortunately, the closest one is 11 hours away, my mother is in school everyday and my father will be deploying very soon.

I could get one interview from a school I'll know 100% will accept me that is very local, but it isn't really one of my preferred choices. Do I need an interview from every school? If I can't get to the interview location, what can I do?

Thank you!

You should arrange for an interview from the Nearest ROTC detachment. It doesn't matter that you don't have that as one of your top choices. (Though I probably would not badmouth that institution while you are being interviewed:eek:) Your situation is a very common one- it really won't impact one way or the other, your ability to get into your first choice.

DS just interviewed with PMS at a local college with an AROTC detachment. Same situation for him. They are interviewing for the Army position rather than the school... at least that is what the PMS shared with DS at his interview. Good luck

Thank you guys very much!

Bruno ~ I only said that because they literally do accept 100% of their applicants. But I don't like the city I live in, so to attend that college would defeat the purpose of wanting to leave. Sorry if I sounded arrogant in anyway, it was not my intention to!

Also, about the scholarships, what are the passing scores for the PFT? I heard that it was..

21 Push Ups in under one minute
27 Sit Ups in under one minute
7:57 One-Mile run

Is that correct?

Here is a thread from a few years back.. I dont know if it may have changed, but Clarkson has been one of the more knowledgeable resources regarding all things Army ROTC. I would take his opinions to heart.
The info provided will at least get you in the ball park for what you are looking for. Just remember to strive to be exceptional. Average won't cut it with ACT's SAT's PFT's or any other acronym/goal regarding ROTC scholarships regardless of branch of service. The competition is fierce and you want to give yourself every advantage you can. Good Luck
