I know this only applies for the nom, and the admissions board still has to decide I'm not a complete screw up be offered an appointment, but I also know that MO is no VA or MD in terms of the high number of highly qualified applicants (and is no ND or MT in terms of low number of applicants). So tell me forum, is Mighty MO's namesake a competitive place?

Transition Year in MO

It probably depends what class year you're applying for, this year no - next, maybe. The recent reduction in Nomination sources, MO just lost a congressional district, might indicate yes. Another factor, Missouri in many ways is considered a southern state. Often over represented in the armed services- commissioned and enlisted. So while not as competitive as VA or So Cal with regard to USNA, it can be tough. I do know the nomination sources do coordinate their Noms very closely. So put up your best application, create relationship with the Nom sources and knock it out of the park on the interviews.
