First off sorry if I am supposed to post this in a separate thread, I have not found where to post so I just decided to make a new thread, but anyways:

Hello I have applied to west point, and have always wanted to go there, I haven't been home to see if I have received a reply yet. I am going to be a senior in high school and I was wondering what my chances are of getting in. So I will provide information about myself.

- Mostly A's and B's, One C+ in freshman year of high school
- Taken/ already took 6 AP classes
- 3 years varsity track (outdoor)
- Two time state mile (4:05) and 800 champion (1:50.9
- 2 years varsity track (indoors)
- State mile champion
- 3 years varsity cross country
- State 5k runner up and nike footlocker national finalist
- 1 year varsity swimming
- Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America
- 100+ hours of community service
- Nomination from senator
- Combined SAT score of 2110

I hope to get accepted and I really want to know what my chances are (if they're good or not). Thank you very much for your replies and time if you can spare any.

What you have mentioned is pretty good but what's more interesting is what's your GPA? What is the breakdown of your SAT score... If your math is week it could be a problem. What is your class rank? What AP courses have you taken and which ones do you still plan to take? Where do you live? It makes a big difference in the nominating process. What leadership positions have you held? Team captaincies? Your athletics sound great but the academies are also very interested in scholars/leaders and you just haven't given enough details in those realms. Of course ultimately no one here can truly chance you. A lot will depend on your interviews, recommendations and essays and we'll have no insight into that.

Keep up the good work. Your athletics look outstanding. Hope this helps.

I'm astounded that you didnt get recruited with that mile time, high schoolers I know that were within 10 seconds of the 4:00 minute mile were all recruited to top tier athletic programs...

My weighted gpa was 4.64/5. I was elected captain of indoor and outdoor track and was offered a scholarship to multiple division 1 colleges. My sat breakdown is math: 780 english: 710 writing: 620. I am from the northeast region. My class rank is top 10 I believe. I have taken AP World History, AP Biology, and AP chemistry. This year I am taking AP Statistics, AP Government and AP physics. Does that clear things up a bit?

Thank you all very much!

With that additional info I would say you are extremely competitive. Good luck. Hope your dreams come true.

I'm curious too. I would also recommend to trackstar that he take AP Calculus if possible as it will improve his chances Calc is part of the required curriculum and demonstrating a facility with it can only help. It would certainly help more than the AP Statistics IMHO.
