My daughter, a C1C, has had all her classes canceled on Friday. It's teacher dependent. Last year, one of her teachers gave a quiz (counted for a grade) during class on Friday morning -- he just asked the parents to sit quietly while the cadets took the quiz. Her other teachers talked about their class, did demonstrations, told about their military careers, etc. Your cadet (by email) can tell you what class periods they have on Friday which will help you plan your day-- you may or may not have time to go to Arnold Hall during the day, just depends. The parade is mandatory for cadets -- most squadrons will then have a barbecue at lunch (bring some cash -- if you eat at the squadron, you will want to make a cash donation to the lunch and buy a squadron t-shirt or two or other squadron memorabilia -- even if you are a C4C parent eating in Mitchells, you may have time to stop by the squadron barbecue and buy a t-shirt). As noted on the calendar, most squadrons will have some kind of an open house on Friday afternoon -- this gives you a chance to meet the AOC, watch a video/slide show of the cadets in the squadron, talk to other parents, etc. The calendar shows these happening on Friday from about 4-6 pm -- some will happen earlier in the afternoon, just depending on schedules, weather, etc. Be flexible. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes (this is not a fashion parade -- be comfortable). Drink plenty of fluids and have fun!! There is a nice coffee shop (with real coffee, lattes, etc.) near the library -- when you need to recharge in the afternoon.
