I just wanted to see how my CFA stacks up with others and whether my basketball throw and mile run are too low to be competitive CFA-wise.

Push-ups:75
Crunches:95
One-mile run: 6:54
pullups:18
Basketball throw: 75 feet
Shuttle run: 8.2 seconds

Dang max situps, how'd you prep for that? I can get to 95 but I can't do them inside 2 minutes. Any tips?

I maxed sit-ups the two times I took the SLS, mainly because the sport I play (rowing) is incredibly core-intensive. Of course, practicing frequently is all well and good, but I'd recommend that you do your sit-ups in splits: for every 30 seconds of the two minutes, aim to do about 25. You might need to have someone else time you, and breaking it down into four chunks really helps in the mental game.

Thanks, so something like 3 sets of 4x25 situps in 30 second intervals with 15 seconds rest would be good?

I would focus on weighted ab exercises. Also, it is not beneficial for you to perform as many situps as you can in one setting when looking for additional reps. Do as many as you can do with whatever routine you decide while still leaving "a few in the tank." This applies to pushups and pull-ups as well. I would say "maxing" about once a week is fine. The point of this is allowing your body and central nervous system to fully recover and build muscle.

I passed the test (a month ago) with the following numbers:

-70 ish basketball throw
-4 pullups (I was very worried about this one)
-8.7 shuttle
-80 situps
-60 push-ups
-7:40 mile run (This is very slow even for me. I had a bad ankle from football. All the more reason you should get the cfa done over the summer.)

These are some very low numbers. I decided in January I wanted to join military. I am a linemen so training for these events was very tough (o pull-ups in May even after 5 months of work) but working every day got my scores up. I am now a slim 5'10" 200 lb specimen and improving every day. :thumb:

Positively, I would say that you scored some where in the high 400's out of 600. You maxed three events. Great job

Shuttle run: 7.8 MAX
Situps: 70 (I'm 6'3, couldn't do it in the time allotted)
Pushups: 68
Pullups: 12
Mile: 6:30 (run a 5:30 now, will retake if I have to reapply next year)
Basketball throw: 75ft

Gah, was hoping for something even better. You mention a 600 point scale. Where did you learn of it? I am just curious.

There are six events scored out of 100.
The school sergeant (my high school) recommended I do a 6 week intensive training program to max as many scores as I possibly could - he said that I should want to max all. Have any of you sought advice for this?

I did a mock CFA in rapid succession (trying to emulate what I'd get)
Shuttle: 8.1
Pull ups: 15
Push ups: 75 (60 in one big push, 15 after a quick breather in the up position)
Sit ups: 90
Mile: 6:55 (I was pooped to be honest! The only mile run within spitting distance contours up a hill. I usually do a 6:10 at school)

I took the CFA at the beginning of the month for my USNA application. I am a freshman at a major university reapplying this year. My scores this year were:

73' Basketball Throw
18 Pull Ups
8.7 Shuttle Run
95 Sit Ups
65 Push Ups
6:28 Mile

All of these scores were up from when I took the CFA at NASS the summer before my senior year (except for Sit Ups, I maxed both times).

Just retook my CFA:

Mile: 5:35
Pushups: 75
Situps: 80 (I'm 6'4" and always run out of time!!!)
Shuttle: 7.8 (Max I believe)
BBall: 70'
Pullups: 16

Finally took my cfa today after a hamstring injury which set me back about a month. Here are the results
B-ball throw: 75'
Pullups:18
Shuttle:7.9
Situps:95
Pushups:75
Mile:5:29
