Scared/confused?

So about a month ago I filled out PART OF an ROTC app (incomplete) and I received an official letter with instructions on how to continue my app. However, I sought advice here on SAF and successfully canceled my app so I can apply next year.

But here's why I'm kind of scared. I received a letter today saying my app was DISQUALIFIED because I'm going to be a COLLEGE FRESHMAN/COLLEGE APPLICANT THIS FALL. Neither of these is true cause I'm a JUNIOR IN HS.

However, on the last paragraph of the letter, it says that I can successfully apply next year. The reason I'm scared is cause the words sound disparaging. Will this hurt my ROTC scholarship app when I apply NEXT YEAR? Or will they see that I was a bit rushed, yet determined, to get a head start on my ROTC app?

Should I contact ROTC HQ and tell them that I'm a JUNIOR IN HS and NOT a COLLEGE FRESHMAN?

Take a deep breath buddy...it will be OK...reapply next year...everything will be just fine.
 
No, but the letter said to write to them if anything on the letter is wrong, and something is. I'm NOT a COLLEGE FRESHMAN or CURRENTLY ATTENDING COLLEGE, should I write to ROTC HQ about this?

:smile: Clarksonarmy is a Army ROTC Major...so listen to him, do as he told you...That's an order :smile:

I'm sure all of the applications that are not completed this year will
be deleted after the application deadline passes, so there will no
record of your application.

If you want to get a head start on the application do it in the printed form LINK
the online form is 'live' and for the current year's applicants.

If you have a partially completed application, on the Army web site, you will continue to get computer generated mail reminding you to do stuff.

As Clarkson said, I wouldn't worry about it. I suspect that this was the only way they could clear your invalid (early) application out of the system.

I apologize sir, if any sort of ignominy has been felt. Thank you sir, for your advice.

I don't know how good that was, but it was worth a try :shake:. Yeah, I'll relax, hopefully GoJack is correct about all the apps being deleted. Thanks for the advice! :thumb:
 
I did the application on line and get those same letters every month. Obviously I'm not competing for a scholarship. The letters are a little unnerving. They usually give you a deadline to respond by, but I have never seen those deadlines enforced (other than the published application and board deadlines). You might want to send an email to train2lead, and to the processor on your letter, and let them know that you mistakenly started the application a year early, just out of courtesy. But, bottom line is you should reapply in the spring when the window opens.
