This speaks volumes to me....I don`t know how many candidates have done something this unique. Working as part of that study: :thumb:

And working in the 100K mapping division? That`s quite an accomplishment

This is also a very amazing thing not many have done. For 9 years? That`s better than most....better than almost everyone. Very amazing.

Overall, of course, it looks excellent, and unless I overlooked something, I didn`t see one flaw. You have amazing other accomplishments, but to me, these two were two things that stand you apart from the other candidates. Pretty much everyone else has amazing grades, APs and honors, sports, etc. Which is great. But these things, I think, will help.

Have you taken the SAT or ACT yet?

Very good stats....personally, I think that you`ll get in...but it isn`t up to me, and you have to get a nomination too, of course. :thumb:

Thank You!!! Your feedback is greatly appreciated! I will be taking a PSAT on October 20th, and will take ACT and the SAT soon after to try and get the scores I need!

Looks good! Really, I think you`ll have a great shot, maybe even LOA type of good shot...but that`s a kind of slanted view. But really, I think those things I mentioned really make you stand out.

Aim for at least a 30 on the ACT and 2000 on the SAT...of course, better always works too!

Look in Summer Seminars for each of the academies. Naval Academy Summer Seminar if you are specifically targeting Annapolis.

I would say what you have shown looks pretty good and some of it even outstanding and unique. Four years of football vs four years of golf would have been better, but it is what it is and we're not all football players.

Your leadership looks pretty good but you can improve it by landing President of "something". Pres of Student Council, Pres of your county High School Golf Association (if there is such a thing) or even Pres of Basket Weaving club.

Ace the SAT and or ACT. Take each at least once, and then a few more times on whichever one works better for you. You don't list your honors and AP courses but which courses they were could become important. If you have AP Calc and AP Physics and/or Chemistry, that's awesome. Take the heaviest load of AP courses you can handle successfully and if you don't have the one's I mentioned try to get them in.

I expect as a golfer you're probably tall, lean and generally fit. But this is different from the physical fitness test the Academy will have you do. FInd out the details of it and start practicing. If you can already Ace the CFA then keep up what you're doing.

Good luck! You're wise to start thinking of this now. :thumb:

have you thought about how youll train for the cfa? as an athlete, i still struggled to get my scores to where i wanted them. your goal should be to beat the average in each category. also, look into boys state for this summer.

Since no one knows what the average now is (the 2009 numbers that may fly around are now quite outdated), you should strive for the max on each event.

This summer I will be doing Boys State, and I will begin training for the CFA here very soon.

Your GPA & class rank are great and if your ACT/SAT results reach a similar level you should be in good position. You don't list what AP courses you've taken; if they're not primarily math and science even that GPA won't help much. The rest of what you've posted looks very good...but it comprises something on the order of 10% of the package.

Keep pushing.
