Son just got invited to attend The Citadel's Scholarship Competition. However, we do have a vacation planned for that very weekend. Its not a vaca I can simply decide not to go on. Spoke with his admissions counselor, he HIGHLY suggested he definitely show up to this event. Here is the situation...
1. NJ resident
2. Eagle Scout
3. SLS attendee
4. Boys State attendee
5. Varsity athlete
6. 700 math 640 reading 640 writing
7. 3.7 GPA...AP course load
He has applied West Point, USNA, USCGA, AROTC-(Rutgers, Citadel, VMI, Penn State, Geaorgia Tech)
I've heard many things about the competition, such as, he will definitely walk away with something to he has an excellent shot at a full.
Does anyone have experience in regards to this event? If so, how should he prepare and should we postpone the vaca and lose a substantial amount of $$$? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
