DoDMERB "letter"?

My DD had her DoDMERB exam earlier this month, and her status is now "Qualified" On her DoDMERB Applicant Data page, there is an entry dated 10-Oct-12 reading "Date letter sent - DD2368: Status Letter." Also, DD is applying only to USNA, which shows up as the "Agency" on her page.

My question: Is the "letter" something that comes to her (i.e., should we be looking for it in the mail) or does it just go to USNA?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You guys should be on the look out for a letter stating which academies for DS
(or DD) qualified for. If he qualified for USNA, that means he will be qualified for USMA and USAFA as well.

there is a letter which comes from DODMERB listing which academies they are qualified.

I think qualifed to one does not make you qualified to all.

I'm pretty certain you are correct that "qualified to one does not make you qualified to all". It might in the "normal" scenario, but the academies definitely have different vision requirements which might make you qualified for one and disqualified for another. I'm confident there are probably other minor differences as well.

Letter

My DD recieved a letter within 2 weeks of when she was originally listed as Qualified on the DodMERB website. At that time, the only "Agency" listed was USNA.

About two ago she was informed she was awarded a NROTC scholarship via email. She received her NROTC letter yesterday informing her of the scholarship being awarded. Today she recieved a letter from DoDMERB. It was short and sweet. It said she was qualified for NROTC Unrestricted Line and USNA. The DodMERB website has also been updated to reflect NROTC as a second "Agency". I was impressed NROTC and DoDMERB put the two together.

She is not seeking an appointment or ROTC scholarship from any other branch of service and none have been posted as an "Agency".

Congratulations to your DD. It's nice to at least have plan B locked up already. I'm sure there was some partying going on at your place. Hope plan A comes through for her! :thumb:

DD got her DoDMERB "letter" in yesterday's mail. Lot's of necessary and informative boilerplate, but the personal part is concise and to the point -- says "US Naval Academy Qualified" in nice bold print
