Hello everyone i'm having alittle dilemma. I can not get in contact with the ROO of my first school choice for the national scholarship for AROTC. I've left a message and sent an email with no response. It is vital for me to get in touch to discuss national guard options if the scholarship falls through. I'm from the midwest and the school is a 15 hour drive. The national guard is only bombarding me with information about my homestate that i'm already aware of. If anyone can shed light on options I could take in my situation it would be greatly appreciated.

Keep calling. the squeaky wheel get the grease. These guys are busy and frankly I think most of them are terrible at returning phone calls. But if you keep at it and leave messages about what you want to discuss I'm sure they'll get back to you. You might try the PMS and others in the unit as well. It's possible the ROO is on detached duty or maybe even at the scholarship boards. I expect most can help you, and if not you can recruit another ally in getting to the ROO.

I'm not sure there is any big rush on this. After all you're waiting to hear on the scholarship and you don't have to make an immediate decision (unless there is something I'm unaware of?). Patience is a necessary attribute in this process.

Might want to try a ROO at a school near your #1. You can also try other numbers at the ROTC Battalion you are trying to contact. If you get the Battalion secretary on the phone you are probably talking to the most influential person in the Battalion, and if you can get on her good side you just scored big points. There aren't a lot of excuses for a ROO not to be responsive, but some of them are new, or at the bigger schools a little busy, so keep trying.

It's not urgent the issue, but I like seeing the full picture of all the options available to me. Thats a good idea clarkson I'll talk to someone else like the secretary or an ROO at a school near their. Thanks for the advice i really appreciate it.

So your secretary whips you into shape on a daily basis?
Ahhhh, secretaries! I couldn't have gotten by without mine back in the day. She was a godsend! Kept me on track and walking the straight and narrow.
