Please POST/REPLY any good information you may have concerning whether Kings Point will be up and running  and ready to receive students to start the next trimester. Report day is Sunday, with classes scheduled to start Tuesday. Any ACCURATE information is appreciated. :thumb:

I suggest looking at www.usmma.edu
and if that does answer your question contact external affairs. That's their job,

As of 1100 EDT, Superintendant had not made a decision yet regarding students reporting back.

Suzanne Graboski of the USMMA FB page is sending out updates received from the administration.

Are they having power issues? The server with the applicant pages has not been responding for a couple of days. I assume they took it down to avoid surges.

The school has limited power right now. The vast majority of Long Island (and more so in Nassau County where KP is located than Suffolk County) is without power right now. One person I know in Garden City said she doesn't expect to get power back for 10 days.

2 alerts blasted by the academy. 5:09 PM

From USMMA Status for Friday 2 November : The academy will be closed 2 Nov.
Administrative leave policy in effect for all non essential personnel.

From USMMA:
USMMA Midshipman are expected to report back to the Academy Sunday 4 Nov as scheduled.

There you have it.

Just got word that all Plebes and Midshipmen are to report as scheduled on Sunday 4 November. Here is a note from Admiral Helis: "Plan is for all midshipmen to return on Sunday. That will put us in the best position to start second trimester. Delano ready to feed full complement starting Sunday. We have adequate lighting and hot water in the barracks. Hoping for power soon. Thanks for your understanding and support."

Here's what is posted on the USMMA Alumni page as there isn't new info on the USMMA page.

MIDSHIPMEN/PLEBES DUE BACK AS SCHEDULED
Admiral Helis informed the National Parents Association that all Midshipmen and Plebes are to report as scheduled on Sunday 4 November. He said that this will put the Academy in the best position to start the second trimester and Delano is ready to feed full complement starting Sunday. There is adequate lighting and hot water in the barracks and he's hoping for full power soon. He wants to thank everyone for their support and understanding.

The alumni page is pretty good with the communication http://www.usmmaaf.com
