I have been working with the minority outreach office for over a year now. Reapplying this year. Already have one ROTC nomination (on 4 year scholarship), waiting on congresswoman and have a meeting with a Senator next month. Very involved here at college. 29 ACT, member of men's rowing team, valor, Color Guard, and intramural sports. I also received an LOE in September. I would really appreciate input on how I stand this year.

Hungry for more info

USMA admissions does recognize those you reapply as having a strong desire. But more info would be good. How are your SAT scores? What courses are you taking in college? What is your leadership depth? What is your high school stats? They do carry over.

My ACT breakdown is 30 english 29 math 29 reading and 27 science. In college I am taking science with lab, math, economics, military science, and writing/public speaking. In high school I graduated with 5 varsity letters, student government, student body officer, captain of my track team, was part of a big brother/sister program, wrote for the school paper, president of a school club (Ecology Club), and had a job that was 10+ hours a week. GPA was 4.76/5.00. Triple qualified last year. This year am already medically qualified, and have a nomination.

Also admissions officer said I "blew the CFA out of the water" and scored a 285 on my first APFT here at college with my battalion.

Nice...

In my opinion, you're on track! Now the tough part starts, waiting for February. In the mean time keep up with the community service and maybe try ACT and SAT one more time. As you know they super score your numbers.
Your college classes reflect your first year at USMA. This is important, now keep the GPA in the "A"s.

Yes the owner of the pizza place I worked out filled out an employee evaluation for. Also letters of rec from my HS principal, former commander and chief of Bolivian Army, and my uncle who was class of 82'.

Why did you not get in the first time you applied?

^ if you click on dc's moniker, you can have a look at all his prior posts. You'll find the answer there... one bad grade.

I dont think it was just the one grade. They have seen all my hs transcripts and never said anything. I have gotten three separate LOE's this semester. I also live in a very competitive district in Illinois. Over 40 applied, the plan was for me to get an AOG scholarship but they had a major cut back on those last year so that did not work out. Then they told me to apply for ROTC, I finished the application a day or two before the deadline and a few weeks later I ended up with a full ride to a pretty good state school.
