If recruited athletes commit to Navy in my congressional district area, doesn't that mean that one of them will take the open slot my representative has and i won't be able to get in? I am not a recruited athlete.

Not exactly sure, someone else can answer that, but there`s always your senators too, I`m assuming that at least one of them would have open slots.

Not necessarily. It is common for more than one person in a district to receive an appointment. Specifically, there could be Pres appointments, ROTC appointments, etc. Also, some of the MOC's nominees will likely be "charged" to SecNav as qualified alternates.

Don't know. I would think for football and basketball (M and W), yes. Other sports, not so sure as I've had recruited athletes for other sports not get them and even not get an appt..

But the above is only my guess -- never seen any official info on the subject.

I'm not sure about "most", and I can only speak from my limited experience, but here is one observation. My DS is a recruited athlete (not Football or Lacrosse), as was a high school teammate of his from last year who is now a plebe. Their experiences have been somewhat similar.

In the case of his teammate from last year who is now a plebe, he received an LOA around September, his nomination in (I think) January, and I am not sure when he received his appointment.

In my son's case, fingers are still crossed. He attended summer seminar in June and was also invited on an official visit in September. He verbally committed to Navy two weeks ago, and the coach said that the next step would be to see whether he would receive an LOA. So, yes, he is certainly hoping for one. Nothing of course is guaranteed.

Changed E-Mail

So I am applying to the Naval Academy and the only thing I am missing is my Activities Record and Academic Information but the individual that I requested to complete them has had a change in e-mail. I can't find where to change it. Any one know where I can do so?

Again, we had a similar circumstance, only in our case, my son typed one of his teacher's email address incorrectly. He had to send an email to admissions to have them correct it and resend the request to the teacher. He sent the request to the email link at the bottom of your CIS page.

Good luck.
