Hey! I have looked into a few other sa, but just recently I've become interested in CGA. I have a few questions!

1. What type of pilot jobs are available after graduating?

2. I play soccer, and have wanted to play after highschool. When I found out that CGA has divison III soccer it set it apart from the other sa! Where can I find info on recruiting?

Thanks!

If you check out the CGA's athletic website you can go to the women's soccer page. There you can find all sorts of information including contact information for the coaches and the recruiting questionnaire! :)

Athletic Recruiting

in College is done exactly as savannahk suggests at every college, university, and SA in the country: Look at the school/sport/gender's website for relative level of competition and availability--contact the Coach if felt competitive and interested--fill out the Recruiting Questionnaire associated with the sport. It might be helpful to share some info of yourself, your sports history and accomplishments, and enclose a video of play if available.

To answer the first question, the CG flies two types of fixed wing aircraft (HC-130 and HC-144), and two types of helicopters (HH-60 and HH-65). These support all the missions of the CG, and pilots get loads of experience in all sorts of conditions. Pilot slots are very competitive to get.

The Coast Guard flies more fixed-winged aircraft than just the HC-130 and the HC-144.... but the other aircraft are.... hard to find. I'm not sure if there are any HU-25s left putzing around out there, but those aren't the additional aircraft I'm referring to. Surely they still have the aircraft in the Running Light!

As for the helos, they're now "MH" as is "MH-60" and "MH-65". You wouldn't like an HH-65.

The Commandant (and sometimes the Sec Homeland Security) flies on CG-01, a Gulfstream V known militarily as a C-37A.

I stand corrected. I could hear the groan on the flightdecks now.
