So I have a nomination from one of my senators already on file with both the USNA and USAFA. However, I got a call today and I was told that I am the principal nominee for my other senator to the USNA. Do I need to call the first senator to decline the nomination? Do I need to call Navy and tell them that? Or should I just take both and wait it out? I don't want to risk anything. Also, what exactly does it mean that I am the principal nominee?

Congrats. It means that you will receive an appointment if you are 3Qed. If a MOC submits their slate of nominees with a Principle nominee, the MOC has essentially chosen the appointee. USNA has no say unless the Principle nominee is unqualified for some reason. This is the best type of nomination you could have received.

You do not need to do anything other than enjoy the rest of your school year, stay in shape, and stay out of trouble. I-Day will be here before you know it. USNA is aware other your other nomination as well.

Thank you! How long do you think it will be until I am notified of my appointment? Also, I didn't do so well on the CFA I took at the summer seminar for Navy, do you think that will affect my appointment?

I'm in the same boat and I'd like to "hear" the answer to this as well. Congratulations on your nomination, by the way!
