4-year NROTC-Navy Option scholarship
Texas A&M University (Mechanical Engineering)
1600 SAT score equivalent (800 each on Math & Reading)
3.98 GPA
No extracurriculars outside of farm and church

Congratulations! DS has AROTC ( mechanical eng) to TAMU. Maybe you will have some classes together.

Congratulations MaxB. Make sure you're ready to pass the fitness test right out of the gate so you can contract right away. Don't be one of those guys at NROTC Freshman Orientation who is not prepared! I'm sure you'll do well. :thumb:

That'd be neat. I'm still hoping to get an AROTC scholarship to A&M, so it's possible your son and I could be in the same unit.

Thanks! What are the requirements for the Navy fitness test? Might as well get ready for it now so I don't have to worry about it later.

By the way, I started this thread for anyone who received a scholarship from the December NROTC board. If anybody else got one, please post here!
 
Thanks MaxB. DS' application was not complete until approx. Sept. 30, so perhaps they will get to him at the next Board. Congrats again, and best of luck to you!
 
DD received her notification today of full 4 year option scholarship to the University of Florida.......

3.8 unweighted GPA
ACT - English 32, Math 31, Reading 32, Science 27, Combined English Writing 29 and writing 10.

Already received Coast Guard Appointment and waiting on West Point decision..... Then the fun begins....
