Does it ask for Gpa because I am on it and it doesn't say anything about GPA?
And I clicked summit but it says remarks or additional comments: 1000 characters.

I can't summit my app right now because it says Value length 1000 characters. I even got rid of some extra curriculars

DD submitted her application. She ended up having to close the entire application down and restarting it because she kept getting the 1000 character error message. I don't think gpa was asked for, but I may be wrong. She is only in 8th grade so had NO test scores to submit so wasn't too hopeful. Additionally as this is somewhat of a recruiting tool, since her brother will be there for the class of 2017 I think it's more doubtful.

I suggest cutting and pasting long answers into a word document and closing the entire application down and restarting. Re-open. the drop down answers are fast. cut and paste your long answers back in.Worked for DD.

Oh man, it seems that a lot of people are hitting the 1000 character mark. Mines didn't feel long enough, I probably was around 500... will that stunt my chances?

idk lol, restarted it and it doesn't accept it :(. What did you put?

just use the 2000 character additional comments box under the class ranking section

Alright thanks guys just finished applying. Btw how do you make sure if you applied successfully?

Jason, I don't think a shorter response will decrease your chances as long as it's well written and all. Some people don't have as much to say, it's fine, I think.

Kensy, it said it will tell you or not if it was accepted successfully, it says in the instructions.

I'm waiting to apply because I need to ask my guidance counselor my exact class rank, and we still haven't gotten PSAT scores back yet.

Allegedly, Mark Twain once said, “I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead”.

I think it’s very true. It takes a lot longer to cut something down. To distill the same value into relatively few words. A lot more.

And know, that James Mitchener re-wrote each of his monumental tomes no fewer than seven (7) times! The only things great ever written in one draft are the Bible and the Gettysburg Address.

Spend a little time on this task. Over several days.

The USNA Admissions page commented on a post they had made, stating that the STEM applications were filled on a rolling basis, so you'll have an advantage if you turned yours in early. That being said, I turned mines in the first day. :thumb:

Jason, same here! Woo!
On a side (funny) note All the older adults and midshipman on this form are Probably staring at us like little children On this thread
