hey guys i'm just curious about others in CA who have applied to SA's and gotten nominations and possibly appointments. what SA's did you get nominations for? how long have your apps been done and is anyone else going crazy about waiting:yllol:

also what congressional district are you in or did you get a nom from one of our senators?

Hi afa,

DS became an official candidate for USNA on May 16, 2012. He only applied to one SA. Didn't fully complete all application paperwork until Oct. 2, 2012. Received nomination from congressman of CA District 52 on November 27, 2012 and appointment to USNA on Dec. 11, 2012. He had LOA, so waiting period was not as long. The waiting part is truly hard.

Good luck! Wishing you the best!

I recieved a nomination from Sen. Feinstein and my local congresswoman. Appointments to USAFA and USNA. Both apps done in October-ish.

I received a nomination from Senator Feinstein also, and from my local congressman (CA-10). Have yet to hear anything from the academy...
Completed my app around the second or third week of December I believe.

I am in pretty much the same boat as you except only from my local congressman

good work! I'm guessing USAFA is your top choice?

Our DS received nominations from his MOC to both USMA and USNA on 11/20/2012, but recently heard from Feinstein that he did not receive a nomination from her.

Received a nomination to USNA from Congressman McNerney (CA-11), but did not receive nomination from Senator Feinstein.
On a sidenote, rather sad to think that McNerney is no longer our Congressman :frown: He's been an amazing congressman for our district

good job to everybody who received nominations. only a another week or so until apps are officially closed.

im definitely staying occupied with track and all AP classes so i don't go crazy about whether or not i will get an appointment haha.

My DS is CA-53, recieved his nominations to USNA, USMA, USAFA and USMMA on 12/12/12. He was a recrutied athlete for USMA but football did not pick him up- They called him just before national signing day.. He is 3Q'd for USMMA and on "HOLD" list. He never heard back Feinstein or VP nomination applications.

i am from CA-25 and eagerly awaiting for any news from the AFA

CA-41, received nomination to USMA and USAFA, finished USMA App on October-ish and was accepted to USMA on February 26.

This is a reminder to all the candidates that are re-applying and to other candidates that did their research last year and want to submit their nominations early. State of CA just passed a ballot on redistricting last November. Beginning January 3, 2013, CA has a new list of Members of Congress that reflect redistricting. You might want to check it out, just to make sure that you still belong to the same district or your Congressman/Congresswoman did not change.

Got a nomination from Boxer for Naval Academy but didn't get in. Didn't get a nomination from Feinstein or my MOC.
