Medical Remedial Application Consideration

Right now I have a remedial from DoDMERB for having braces on. All I need to do is get the DoDMERB remedial form filled out by my orthodontist and I should be good to go because that was my only hiccup in getting medically qualified.

My question is will the admissions board even review my application while I'm waiting to get this form filled out? The rest of my entire application is all green, including a nomination from my representative.

I recommend getting the form filled out quickly. Have it in by the end of the month.
 
Yes, if it is a remedial they will still review your file, though it is extremely advantageous of you to get the form in quickly.

With your situation, just know that the form they will out will say that you must have no active wire or appliances in your mouth on R day. that includes permanent retainers (though this is somewhat overlooked) or braces of any kind. Retainers are OK, and can be brought to training. A remedial such as this one is very minor, and pretty common..don't worry too much.

Is a Maryland Bridge, which holds artificial lateral incisors in place, cause for disqualification?
 
Missing teeth

To gather more information, I looked up disqualifying medical conditions under dental and found the following paragraph:
"Current insufficient natural healthy teeth (521) or lack of a serviceable prosthesis that prevents adequate incision and mastication of a normal diet and/or includes complex (multiple fixtures) dental implant systems with associated complications are disqualifying."

Can someone explain exactly what this means? Are any bridges or implants disqualifying? What are "associated complications?"
