I have been a long time stalker and have appreciated the informative response so often provided to posts. A quick bit of background-- DS#1 is a 2dig at USAFA, DS #2 is a yearling at USMA and currently DS #3 is medically DQd for both these SAs. We have been frustrated with the process with DODMERB as we knew the initial DQ was coming, but it took until January to get it.
USMA has requested a waiver. As we tired of waiting we took DS to a pulmonologist. Passed the spirometer and the Methacoline Challenge Test is this week. The pulmonologist indicated a likelihood of passing the MCC. In the event this is the case, what steps do we take? We understand that the timing of things isn't in our favor right now.

I might just take the same steps you did. I've been waiting on a remedial letter for my asthma and I hate waiting, because you never know what will happen. Maybe you should send the results to the schools and see what they say.

Fax the results to Dodmerb and request that they be forwarded to the waiver authority. Call the Help Desk for the fax number or an email address to scan PDF versions.

Best of luck!

During my DS's waiver ordeal last year, we scanned and emailed all updated doctor visit reports directly to DoDMERB AND our RC. You don't have to wait for either of them to ask for the reports. Send them in as you have them. In this particular instance I didn't feel that it had to be my DS that did all the communicating with DoDMERB and his RC. The waiver process is far too confusing for an 18 year old to manage alone. For that matter... it is confusing for an adult! Good luck and hang in there!

I've been extremely stressed with my waiver process as well. I broke my arm in the summer of 2016 before flying out and received a DQ. I've been working extremely hard to get every single form sent in that would be pertinent to clearing me. West Point accepted my medical qualification but DODMERB is still on the fence.

However so this doesn't turn into a "me" post, I will leave this applicable anecdote: I sent in some documents that declared me negative for glaucoma and DODMERB would not process it until they had the 104R form, which was a whole new headache because I never received it.

Bottom line: Be VERY clear with every single piece of paper you send in and have as much paperwork you can attached to it (I think they like that). Apparently some people have had them work on forms they send in directly but not in my case. Good luck:thumb:

The suggestions have been appreciated and we will follow-through with them. DS just passed the MCC test. Now we see the pulmonologist, get paper work, and then try to navigate the maze...:thumb:
