So I'm sitting here at home checking the mail everyday and the portal and was wondering if anyone had heard back yet. I'm getting pretty anxious its just like waiting for college decisions all over again. So again, has anyone heard for AROTC yet?

Trust me, when the notifications are made this board will light up. Nothing happens over the weekend.

Watch for a post from Clarkson, he usually posts when CCIMS has been updated, the first sign that notifications will follow.

I've been checking constantly and haven't heard anything either. It should be soon based on past dates I guess though. And I'm guessing people will be posting about scholarships on here which will be a good sign!

The second board results have been nortoriously slow in the past. 2 years ago it took over 2 months to get the results, last year it was faster. Be ready for anything, I understand how difficult the waiting can be.

Oh, I can tell its the end of January just by reading the titles of the threads....AROTC especially. Sit tight applicants - this is a tough time, but only the beginning. Take some time to double check all your back up plans, enjoy some time with your family and friends. Even if the craziness of 2011 repeats(yes, Jcleppe mentioned the TWO months we waited for the January results....)you cannot do anything to change it. Hopefully this year will be quicker like 2012 was, but one never knows for sure.

And even if the worst happens and you get rolled to the March board, keep your back up plans fresh - your options open. The path isn't a straight, predictable way for most seeking to become an Army officer(or the other branches either). DS lived through the three boards and still came away without a scholarship offer - it was rough - but ultimately his path to becoming contracted has taught him a lot.

Keep hitting refresh, flex those fingers so you don't get a cramp and try really hard to not freak out every time the website flickers(see the January 2011 thread for pages of this...)

Hope to see the site light up soon!!

AFROTC Boards

The letter we received at the end of December said the next board would meet today thru Feb 1st and that the expected release date would be Feb 15th.

I assume from what I'm reading on here that the Feb 15th date could fluctuate?

After this board the next one meets 25Feb thru 01Mar with expected release 15 Mar.

Then 25-29 MAR with expected release 12 APR.

Good luck to all!

Wrong ROTC program for this thread, But Good luck regardless.

If you are feeling anxious and not seeing anything it's cause you aren't checking often enough...I hear Cadet Command has a way of measuring how many times you check your status, and the one who checks most often gets the first offer:)
I know the waiting is probably killing all of you. The best way to reduce stress is to go for a run or do pushups. Hang in there. We'll let you know as soon as we see something.

PAtience became a bit more tolerable after receiveing NROTC 4yr the other day. However, the anticipation is still killing me.

Sorry Jcleppe. I assumed since the title of this thread was AROTC that meant AFROTC not NROTC. Guess I'm confused! I had AF on my mind and wasn't thinking about Army! Still wishing applicants in all services good luck!

One of the skills you'll learn as an ROTC cadet is how to delegate tasks. You can get a head start on this by assigning the task of watching your portal to your parents.

That's a good idea as I expect parents are already checking it several times a day. I did!

I am glad we got this over with on the first board. I was the delegated parent to check status. Best of luck to all of you clicking away today!

But remember to wait for the letter. DS's letter was better than what showed on the portal.

Hey all,

Been on here for a while just lurking. I have enjoyed the conversation about the ROTC process, and my application has been submitted. So nervous today!

Any other University Of Illinois class of 2017 people out there?

My son is hoping for University of Alabama or Auburn. One thing that we have learned, however, is that God has been able to turn the biggest disappointments into blessings. I am sure that this journey will be no different. Regardless of outcome, we know that "All things work for good for those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose."

Good luck to all.
