Hello everyone! First of all I REALLY appreciate all of you who post on this website, it has helped answer a TON of my questions. I applied for an AFROTC scholarship and had my interview in the beginning of January. I am scheduled to be boarded the last week of February. I am so nervous and anxious to hear the results. I want to pursue a career in the US Air force and I felt that ROTC was the best place to start. My major is computer engineering. Has anyone who applied for an AFROTC scholarship heard any news? Idk about any of the other applicants but I am constantly thinking about it and can't stop worrying about what might the results be. This is just such a HUGE step in life. Anyways just curious where everyone else is on the waiting game.

Same place you are at. ... I might venture to say that you have been misinformed - AF board met (I believe) around the last week of Jan, or the first week of Feb.

Results to be released 15th! Excited & nervous like you! All we can do is wait now! ... while you wait - you could always go for a wonder winter (depending on where you live) run :thumb:

The OP might be right regarding his boarding, just different terms...his paperwork would be in for the March board, which would need to be there the end of Feb.

His interview was in January, and if he didn't complete the file in time for the Feb. board, which would have been sometime in late Jan. he would than be Mar.

allgoodg3,

Nobody knows your stats, and nobody here sits on the boards, all we can say is have plan B, C and D in place.

Personally, if you know you have any medical issues that could DQ you, get your medical paperwork in order because waivers are becoming fewer, and no waiver equals no ROTC.

Also, remember the way AFROTC scholarship works because it is unique compared to A/NROTC. It is for 3 or 4 yrs., but really only guaranteed through your sophomore yr. If you are not selected as a C200 for SFT they will release you from the program. If you need the scholarship to pay for the college, how will you pay for it for 2 more yrs when you are a junior without the scholarship?

Good luck.

Haha yeah, I know all about this long and grueling waiting game. I applied for and had the interview for the AFROTC scholarship, before November. I didn't make it in the December board, but because of my rank in the December board, they reviewed is again and I'm holding out for good news on the 15th! I've learned that all you can do is finish everything that you can, then put it on a back burner and focus on getting all the back-up plans in place.

DS just had his AFROTC interview monday 4 FEB and the ROTC Detachment stated the deadline for getting in paperwork for the next board was the 10th of February. The board results for the next board are scheduled to be released in March timeframe. Good luck to all!

Similar situation here. DS interviewed on Jan 28th with AFROTC detachment. DS said that all paperwork was complete at the time of the interview. I don't know if it was early enough for Feb board or not. Hurry up and wait! LOL:thumb:

... was just looking at some papers - and unfortunately it looks like you did not meet the time requirement for the 2nd board. The second board met Jan 28 - Feb 1.

Third board will meet Feb 25 - March 1st. (Results released around March 15th)

Thompson,

That is why I was saying the OP may have not met the Feb board, because although it met at the end of Jan. paperwork has to be compiled at HQ prior to the board date aka there is what they call a suspense date.

If you look at the rated board for AFROTC rated board, the suspense date is Jan. 13th and board release is the 13th of Feb.

Yes - I understood that, I just wanted to post a date in case the OP & others wanted to know.

And really - the board release date is being moved up 2 days?!!
