Will only those who get in hear around this time frame? Or will everyone know their status by then? Also is it the "official date" for those who receive BFEs in the first round? Because I was told by my admissions officer that I "should hear something around 28 Feb." I am not sure if it is a positive or negative thing...

The 26th

• We are eliminating rolling admissions. The majority of the class will receive their offers of admission on or about 26 February. Each offered candidate will have 45 days to accept or decline their offer.

Someone had stated here and stated only once. (Could be rumor) BFEs are ready to be sent out Friday the 22nd to be received on 26th and 27th. That would make sense according to the confirmed statement we know. Whether it happens is yet to be seen. This is all we know on SAF.

In past years congress persons office notified the candidate of offer via phone call. But this deepened on the district.

As for the other notices, I don't know. And I will not speculate and cause rumor. I know this not the answer you're wanting to hear dcarmy.

That wait is difficult, we all feel it.

So, just for clarification's sake, no one (or next to no one) will be hearing back from West Point any LATER than the 26th? Like, it won't be in past years where some qualified kids are sitting on the waiting list until June 23rd and then find out "Oh, I need to show up for R-Day!" ?

Quotes from correspondence DS has received from admissions:

"Most appointments will be tendered between 26 February and 1 May 2013."

also

"Although most offers of admission will be tendered before 1 May 2013, final selection from the waiting list may be made only a few days before the enters."

Hope that clears things up for you. Good Luck!

Tug Boat, I will see what I can find out from my sources...quite possibly, I'll find nothing...but will let you know.

Tug_boat, do you think we could possibly find out on our portals on the 22nd this Friday, or will we have to wait until the BFE (hopefully) comes in the mail?

In my opinion, I don't think you will see anything on the 22nd, 26th or possibly before 28th for that matter. Since the 28th is the last day and all application files close.

You may get an early indication, if you live in a MOC district who likes to call those who will be getting an offer to congratulate them. Or those who receive the BFE in the mail and announces it here on the SAF. It maybe a case by case issue when we find out.

Hope that make sense?

Appointees will have 45 days to accept their appointment. I assume some will already have decided to attend another SA or college thereby freeing up the appointment. Hopefully these candidates will inform admissions of prior commitments promptly. So yes, appointments could be offered soon after the initial wave up until a couple of days before R- Day!

We are all hoping to be part of the first mass mailing. This waiting game is so hard. I have not brought up the subject of the date with DS and he has not asked.

154

What we do know from last year, Class of 2016 admitted 1193. 1337 offers of appointment was extended. Simple math, 154 declined so probably 10 were offered appointment after the initial class composition was formed. So it is a narrow margin.

Okay, thanks so much everyone. I saw a post somewhere that said only recipients of Primary Congressional and Presidential Nominations would receive notification next week, while the 150+ kids pulled off the NWL won't hear back for a longer period of time. Big numbers is what I'm most concerned about. Thanks so much!

I remember for SLS I noted a change on my portal maybe a week before receiving the package. Hopefully they'll let us know sooner rather than later!

Tomorrow is Tuesday

It would be interesting if a few are offered an appointment.

Tuesday is the day West Point Admissions meets. This may enable the first wave to go out by Friday! But, we are all just guessing in our angst! My suggestion is try to keep busy and not focus on it! It will happen when it happens, out of our control! Best of luck to everyone! :thumb:

It is unlikely it will show up on your portal before the BFE arrives. When I got my notification of appointment (phone call) it took a week for the BFE to arrive at my house. The offer of appointment only showed up on my portal hours before the BFE showed up at my house. They may have something more coordinated for the big wave but I doubt it.

Yup

I totally agree with you Lcwick!

Good Luck!

My Cow received no notification of any kind until he received his BFE. The mailman left it outside leaning against a flower pot in some misty weather because it was too big to fit in the mailbox. Later, a notification appeared in his portal.

In fact, my cadet received almost no communication from WP----no 3 Q'd letter, no personal phone calls from MOCs, just a vague call from his Senator's assistant saying the Senator liked him and was going to nominate him.
