Waviers do come thru..... my son recieved notification today of his medical waiver granted from USNA.
Larry, thanks so much for your time and guidance in this issue as we started the process with medical.
Note.... that farmgirl from Pink Hill, NC

Well, hush my mouth Big B! Congrats to D! Go get em:thumb:

It is good to hear that they do occur. How is notice given? DoDMERB site, something in the mail? We have USNA LOA, so just waiting on the waiver issue (and, of course, nomination). Just wondering where is the first location that the waiver decision will appear. Thanks.

Congratulations on getting the waiver (btw is congrats really the best word??) I remember being more nervous for the waiver than I was for the nomination or LOA.

JustWaiting - my daughter's waiver showed up first on the DoDMERB website.
Maybe someday DoDMERB will send out updates in an email -

About a week later, she got a notice from DoDMERB saying the waiver was granted.

The Academy or ROTC program has the responsibility for sending the waiver notification via letter. We get it as a secondary action to you. The porocesschanged last year, becasue it built in a delay in notifcation to the applicant. So now, the ones that make the decision, make the notification too:thumb:

That makes more sense. I do remember feeling like we were on a merry-go-round!

I wouldn't necessarily characterize it that way, but we're always trying to improve:thumb:

Just wanted to clarify the notification process with respect to the USMA, as we are awaiting a waiver from them. On the DoDMERB website, under the waiver process instructions for the USMA, it says "USMA will render a decision and will notify you if your waiver request has been denied. DoDMERB will notify you if your waiver request has been granted."

So we've been checking the DoDMERB site for the good news, and figuring that any bad news would come from USMA by mail. Is the information old, or is the process different for the different academies?

Thanks for pointing that out to us. It is a recent change. All Service Academies and ROTC programs will notify you via letter of their waiver decisions:thumb::thumb:
