What exactly is in the BFE? Are there packets or instructions on what to bring to R-Day, and what time to report and stuff. Cause i saw a packing list from last year, and it said bring dental and x-ray recors. Are there more specific instructions in the BFE? Thank you very much

The Big Fat Envelope will have a bi-fold portfolio with the actual appoinment in it as well as a short congratulatory letter.

Shortly after you will get lots of follow-on letters and notices on your portal, boot and shoe letter, medical requirements, reporting time, location, parking pass, packing list. There will be lot's to do.

WHAT?!

What is the "BFE"? Are you kidding me?
Its the Holy Gail, The Golden Ticket, its the code to unlock the secrets of the ACT/SAT high score gate, its what kids the have been focused their whole lives for. Its what the mail man hates to deliver, because he gets accosted. Its the "Big Fat, Envelope! That contains a leather bound folder and inside has a picture of West Point and the other side it has "your name" saying "Appointment Offered".

Its Christmas morning in your hands!

I said what is IN. IN the BFE.

LOE

Big Nick,
What role does having a LOE and a nomination play in selection if you don't receive a primary appointment? I know it is not a LOA, but does it mean you are likely to have a very high WCS and therefore put you in good position?

Without a P-Nom it means that you have a high Whole Candidate Score and are considered as an excellent candidate. However, it does not mean for sure that you will get an offer from the NWL. It does probably mean that you are high on the list - but high enough?
In short- no guarantee but you are a top candidate.

Well I am glad you didn't see that, because I had wondered and felt too silly to ask.

Good to know. I can't wait to apply, and hopefully one day get one of these.
