Hi everyone,

First, congratulations to everyone who has already been appointed to the USNA! I hope to join you soon.

I apologize if this is a redundant question. However, I am new to the forum and have not had the time to sift through all of the threads on this website.

As a candidate, when am I likely to hear of the boards decision? Is there a certain period of time when most TWE's are sent out and when the majority of BFE's are sent? Does anyone have an idea of how many appointments have already been made to the Academy?

Thanks for the help!

The board has a self-imposed deadline for advising all candidates of their status by/about April 15. TWE's should be flowing out of Admissions about now. Due to the nature of the process it is difficult to estimate the number of appointments accepted and offers on the table unless Admissions releases that informtion, and Admissions usually doesn't make that release until well after the dust has settled. This is a very delicate time for Admissions as well as the candidates as Admissions is trying to avoid overshooting its target class size, especially in today's non-budget environment. Best wishes to you and the multitude of peers who are waiting for the MOC call or the BFE. Just don't attack the deliverer.

Chances of BFE at this time are slim???

Hi 1964BGO,

So, bottom line... most candidates who have not heard anything at this point should be considering that they will probably be a recipient of a TWE?

Thank you for your wisdom, experience and guidance,

Actually the majority of 2017's class recieves the BFE's in late February and March so stay hopefull!

BFE Landed Yesterday

This might help to allay some fears but I'm a graduating senior and I just received my BFE in the mail yesterday right as I was about to give up hope for USMA and USNA, don't give up hope. My B&G Officer told me that things have been moving slowly and having not heard yet isn't necessarily a bad sign quite yet.

Agreed. I received my appointment in November, but in the last two weeks I've heard of two other guys from my school having received acceptances to USNA as well. (Yes, I go to a massive school.)

This waiting is so difficult. My DS stalks the mailbox everyday hoping but still nothing. The longer it goes it is easy to assume that he will receive a TWE. I'm hoping and praying that I'm wrong. Congrats to all who received the BFE. That is awesome!
