So today I received a Army ROTC scholarship to colorado state but it did not say how many years. Will that be in a letter?

Yes, the letter from Cadet Command will have all the details. It may also list more than one school for the scholarship in addition to the number of years (3 or 4).

Congratulations and best of luck to you!

Hey!! I'm so glad to hear that you got one! Was Colorado your 1st choice? If not - perhaps the letter will offer you one to your top state!

It's always possible but don't get your hopes too high. This late in the cycle many schools are already filled up.

Hey there PSU Buddy!! So happy to hear of another person who wants to go to Happy Valley! Are you willing to go to Penn State next year if not awarded a scholarship?

... hey, shoot me a PM if you want to know if you got awarded or not (before the mail arrives) ...

Sorry this is a dumb question, but I just want to clarify. Everyone receiving a scholarship (assuming you are a high school senior) will get either a 3 year or 4 year scholarship, right? And if so, does anyone know the number of people who get a 3 year compared to the 4 year? Thanks:thumb:

Yes to the first question. Unknown to the second - that information probably is only known to the ROOs at this time. But I can tell you that ALOT more 3 years are awarded vs 4 years.

Thank you for the help! I have one more question. Do the 3 year scholarship winners still get the stipend during their freshman year? Or does the stipend not kick in until the actual scholarship takes affect in their sophomore year?

The stipend doesn't kick in until you're contracted... ie. the scholarship takes effect.
