As many GS's are buckling down financially for the next 5-6 months, I am sure that pic/link made them smile in joy.

I am so happy to see that our administration is showing that they feel the pain too!

If posters don't think that this didn't cost one tax dollar penny, I am a realtor, and believe me I can get you a great deal on land in Florida, it might be a little wet, some may call it swampy, but you can fill it with a couple of truckloads of dirt, and all will be fine!

This ticks me off beyond any belief. The girls going to Bahamas, and CO over spring break, I can accept.

This I can't! They are sitting and enjoying a concert in the WH, while today this is the AF's world.

NKorea spewing rhetoric. Army taking as bad of a hit, if not worse than the AF, this really annoys me looking at that picture.

The military is making due with less. The WH is closed to visitors because of costs from a security issue, but they think hosting this event which will be on PBS (a govt funded organization) is the best way to use tax dollars?

Seriously, how many people are watching PBS now? Downton Abbey is over!

Done venting. I would be happy to read anyone's defense of why they spent even a penny. Let's be honest many pennies were spent .Horsy duevres and drinks probably cost 10K...One more day for taxpayers to get a WH tour?

I was so infuriated when I saw this, Bullet turned to me and said...what did you expect?

He already resigned himself to this is DC.

I kind of feel like the story of Nero fiddled while Rome burned.

I have to say, I respect him taking a 5% cut, but OBTW GS are taking 15%. Seriously, he should have said 15%, for 6 months. Plus, he should have asked/demanded Harry and Nancy to follow suit.

Nancy has publicly stated it undermines dignity of the job.

That too is my ire. You are are living comfortably, a millionaire, using the AF to travel, but you won't cut your salary...Thanks,..Nancy!

In the end, I look at our elected officials, and say, we need term limits.

Huh? Why ask Harry and Nancy to follow suit? It does nothing for anyone who is without money.

This is a PR stunt by the Obama team, nothing more. Something tells me he's going to survive a 5% degree in his $400K salary... why? Because he doesn't pay an power/water/gas bill, doesn't fuel his cars, has a personal doctor, has security... etc etc etc.

It's a stunt.

And they thing feds will rally around it. Obama could take a 100% cut, no one cares, they just want their money. Him taking a cut doesn't get them that money.

And the thing is, Obama proposed this mess and did nothing to push Congress along to fixing it.

This is me burning down the house, but offering to replace the pillow cases... TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.

I am not disagreeing with you. I was just giving him credit when the MOCs in his party think they are above cutting their salary due to dignity.


Everytime I see PBO and MO smiling, jamming out to Memphis soul via Timberlake, I get angry.

Part of me hears in my cranium...let them eat cake!

LITS, you forgot to add in the roughly $1.4 billion he has spent on vacations thus far. That money certainly isn't coming from his personal salary. :rolleyes:
