Hello all,

I requested a transfer of my 3 year AD scholarship from school A to school B on April 10th. My portal now says: "You have accepted an Army ROTC Scholarship at... school A". However, it does not mention any transfer request to school B. Is that how it should be?

Thank you.

You should hear what the decision is regarding your transfer request no later than 5 May. If you aren't talking to your gaining and losing Battalions you are probably wrong. Don't rely on the online status to know what is going on.

Hey I was having the same problem.
I just was emailed though by CC about my transfer(which was approved).
I then checked my status on the website and it looked the way it did before they even offered me my scholarship.
So don't rely on the website. They will let you know.
Good luck!

Thank you for your replies.

Clackson, I contacted the school I want to transfer to, to find out if they had any slots available before submitting my transfer request. They said that they do have openings and I emailed them to let them know that I had requested a transfer. I have not heard anything from them since. Have I done anything wrong? What should I contact the school from which I am transferring about? I do not want to offend them by saying that I want to transfer.

Thanks.

I don't think so; said person probably has not had a chance to reply to your email yet. Members of the cadre aren't like you and me who get only a couple emails a day, folks like them can get tons more emails - I don't have a number, but rest assured, it's a lot!

That's usually the case with me when I email the ROO at my school - sometimes it takes several days for him to reply to my email.

Give it a couple more days.

Some ROOs are more responsive than others. Some ROOs just hang out on discussion boards all day and answer questions.
Our feelings only get hurt a little when you choose to transfer your scholarship from our school to another. It's still nice to know when that is your decision. If you have absolutely no intent of going to the school, even if your request is denied at least we can let the next applicant on our list know that eventually your scholarship will be freed up. The more we know about our applicants intentions the better (at least that's how I like to roll). Best of luck and hang in there. I know Cadet Command seems to be trying real hard this year to sort this process out as quickly as possible. It may seem like it's dragging on, but I've seen it be a lot worse.

And some applicants are extremely grateful to those ROOs.

My request of transfer has nothing to do with the battalions. After visiting the other school, I felt like it was a better match for me. If the transfer is denied I will attend the school that has the scholarship, since my primary goal is to become an Army Officer.

P.S.
I just realized that I misspelled your name in the previous post. Sorry about that.
