Good for you! Dahlonega is a great little town, and UNG is a great school. Being accepted into the Corps of Cadets is quite an accomplish as well. :thumb: Best of luck to you!

Thank you Bravo :)

I am Majoring in English CoachBart, with a concentration in writing, and a minor in psychology.

I also want to commission in the Army  but I may in the meantime enlist in the guard, as they have a unit on campus :thumb:

I was also awarded a scholarship while I was visiting

National Guard

My son is in the North Georgia National Guard Partnership program. Graduates at Ft. Benning on May 24th.

UNG Bound!!

Looks like my DS will be joining the Boar's Head Brigade class of 2017!

Kind of sad to get a QNS from West Point over the weekend, but has become more excited about UNG during the long wait - and family's happy because he'll be only an hour away from home.

awesome! Maybe Ill meet your son! Im sure he'll have a great time at UNG; its a really wonderful place:smile:

Rancid, My son applied and was accepted to UNG. We visited UNG last February. It was a very impressive University with a great Army ROTC program. While my son ultimately decided to attend VMI because of the opportunity to play football, he considered UNG very heavily. The University and surrounding area are very nice if you like small towns. Take a look at their Summer Language Institute (SLI) program. I dont know if this summers SLI registration is already closed or not. Some degrees require 1-2 years of foreign language credits. The SLI program is a great way to get some college credits the summer before you attend and would give you a chance to experience UNG and the area before you started classes full time in the Fall. It's very affordable, they offer GO scholarships which cover room/board and meals i believe. You can earn up to 9 foreign language credits. Ask the admissions about it. But you'd have to act quickly if its not already closed. Good luck to you and the others going to UNG I hope you (and coachbart, & Nick) keep us updated over the coming years with your progress at this great university.

Congrats! Great decision, it will be a lot warmer for morning PT than -40 degree Norwich.

Used to live up in that area, it's gorgeous.....UNG is a really good cadet corps as well, the Blue Ridge Rifles are one of the best drill teams I've ever seen.
