No offense, but either option will result in 4 yrs, 365 days, 52 weeks, 24 hrs, 7 days a week AD.
College is not 365 days, 52 weeks, 24 hrs, 7 days a week.
It is typically:
30 weeks a yr (15 week per semester)
20 hrs (credits are per hr per week....3 credits = 3 hrs in the classroom)
5 days a week.
PLUS, you will go to a college you want to go to. AF and Navy can assign you to anywhere in the world. Can you say MINOT, ND...Freezin is the Reason! Oh No Alamogordo! Hell Rio!
College is the fun part. You chose the college, you get to go home for T-DAY, XMAS, Easter, Memorial Day. 4th of July etc for 4 yrs.
You may not get that choice when you go AD. Place the scholarship aside.
Ask yourself do you want to live on a boat in the Navy missing the holidays , stationed in San Diego, over living in Del Rio TX for 4 yrs and go home for the holidays as an AF officer. Before you answer that....Del Rio does not have a Target. Walmart is the big store. It is commonly referred to as Hell Rio
If both branches offer ROTC, and your decision is based on which branch covers what, you need to pull back and ask:
Which branch you want to live 24/7 365 days a yr for 4 yrs.
If AFROTC does and the Navy says NO, will you be okay living in ND at Minor for 4 yrs?
Would you be okay being on a boat when your wife is 8 months pregnant with your 1st born?
You are 17, but you will be 26, a decade from now before you can bolt. Think about being 25.
