I am trying to put together a plan to see DS jump and graduate from AB school. When does the final jump usually occur? A day or two before graduation?
And any recommendations of hotels close by for graduation?

Last summer the Jump Week schedule during my son's session was for two of the five jumps on Monday, two on Tuesday and the final one on Wednesday with the graduation on Friday morning.

However, lousy visibility limited them to one jump on Monday and precluded any jumps at all on Tuesday, resulting in two jumps on both Wednesday and Thursday. Although it was assuredly unpleasant for the would-be jumpers who had to sit in their harnesses hour after hour in the shed, watching promotional videos while wondering if the clouds would break, it worked out great for me: when I learned there were still four jumps to go as of Tuesday night my wife gave me a birthday present of letting me go to Ft. Benning, including a 4 a.m. drive to the airport Wednesday morning.

There are a number of reasonable though not cheap hotels in the Ft. Benning area in both Columbus and adjoining Phenix City, Alabama. The Microtel on St. Mary's Road was fine for me though there are some even closer to the base. An unanticipated treat was having breakfast at the hotel with families who had come to see their kids' Basic Training graduation ceremonies on Friday morning.

Used Expedia got a pretty cheap room. You can save some money and fly into Atlanta and rent a car from there. About an hour and a half drive to Benning. Make sure you go to Infantry Museum. Worth the trip.

Congrats on the wings!

There is a "newer" Holiday Inn Suites right by the base on Victory. When my oldest graduated from Jump school, we stayed a very nice Towneplace Suites in Columbus. As a matter of fact, I leave tomorrow for yet another Ft. Benning graduation and will be staying this time at the Hyatt Place in Columbus (about 15 minutes away from base), not a bad per night rate if you use the various military graduation discount codes they have available.

Thanks! military graduation discount codes.... Can I find those online or do I have to call?

Back from IBOLC Graduation (Fantastic Event)...The Hyatt Place was a wonderful place to stay, excellent hotel/rooms and a wonderful free brealfast to start the day! It is about a 10-15 minute drive max. to Ft. Benning and is in quite a nice area (around exit 10). There is also a nice mall area by the hotel with plenty of places to take your son to eat. As Norwich Dad stated make sure you make a trip to the Infantry Museum, it is very impressive!

Congrats on the blue chord around his shoulder!

Congrats on the blue chord around his shoulder!

A job well done by #1 Son and as you know Norwich Dad... now off to Ranger School.
BTW... spot on with the Infantry Museum, what a great place to visit, although a little crazy this past Friday due to a large BCT Graduation!
