Class of 2016 Herndon Climb

I probably missed this memo several years ago, but it's really cool to see the female mids participating in Herndon.

Incidentally, there is a picture of a mid named Diana Cabarle on Facebook from today's climb. Wasn't / isn't there a BGO that often posts on these forums named Cabarle? Any relation? If so, BZ -- plebe no more!

At least, according to my son's countdown times, there are no more plebes for 37 more days. Then 2017 fun begins.

In fact, she is his daughter.

Actually, I'm alive and well. :thumb:

I "manage" the class of 2018 Facebook candidate page and assist with the USNA Parent Community page. I'm more of a lurker here, but enjoy the conversations! My daughter is thankful for the year to be over with!

As are all of our 2016 DDs and DSs! Thanks for all you do--we appreciate the time and effort you put into supporting the mids, parents and future mids.

I think that the smart Type A's sit it out:shake: At least mine did after making some initial efforts and realizing that self-preservation might be the better route to take. Getting kicked in the head, a sweaty, greasy foot in the mouth, sweat dripping down on you, etc., is not all its cracked up to be!

My son is VOST. In 2011 he missed both Sea Trials and Herndon, as they were busy sailing.

Line Up By Companies

With 1100 plebes. How do they determine who climbs and who watches?????
The company that does best at Sea Trials gets to line up the closest to Herndon then after that it's by order how the other companies ranked. Once the bodies amass at the base of Herndon it's pretty much a free for all. Cheers.
