I know the sports on this board tend to go football, but two of the Original Six are about to face off for the 2013 Stanley Cup. Go Bruins!

LITS, as the resident hockey expert of DCUM, any predictions?

I don't believe in the "Original 6".... I call it "Old 6".... since they spanned 20+ years, and some teams came and went...

I think Boston will win, but I also hate the Blackhawks (as any good Predators fan would).

BUT, I did take off from hockey this year because of the lock out (I also ditched my Capitals season tickets).

LOOOONG night last night unleavened by a good outcome:eek: . Gonna make for a slow day at work today I suspect

A little bleary-eyed this morning. Thought that would never end last night!
Outcome = :thumb:

Overtime! Overtime! Overtime! Bleary eyed also. Just wish the Rangers were part of the show:shake: Old Time Hockey was "Slap Shot"

Have to root for the home team. I was cheering for the Blackhawks the entire way.

Incredible to see them find a way to tie it up in the 3rd period.

Truth be told, it seemed to me that Boston was a step faster and sharper but the Hawks found a way. Gotta appreciate that!

Western Conference hockey is better than Eastern Conference hockey, but the West spends a season beating itself up, thrashing it out in the playoffs only to play a well rested team from the East.

I had two very important roles in "Slap Shot". The first was the guy in the six row a little to the left of the goal. The second was the guy in the blue shirt in row 14 on the blue line. I don't think the movie would have been as good with out me! :biggrin:

I think the game went like a lot of games this year first 55 minutes team play badly then they play good hockey and the other team plays poorly. (almost like NBA were the first 3/4 don't matter). Over time they appeared to play not to lose (both team).

But it was a fun game to watch (except they needed some nice red jerseys with a large blue strip with white pinstripes)

Sigh. It had the feel of a playoff game in baseball where one team's bullpen blows a lead -- it's awfully hard to come back from for the team that felt like the win slipped from its grasp, and it's a huge morale booster for the winning team.

Hats off to the Blackhawks -- they looked mighty good. No matter what happens (more to play!), it's been a great year for the Bruins.

Series tied 1-1 ! This is a pretty well matched series- Tukka Rask is just phenomenal in the net. If every one of these goes into OT , it will be some very tired fans celebrating in Boston at the end of the series (not to mention worn out teams!)
