If a basic is injured and unable to participate during BCT 2. Are they going to be accepted even if they are just at the sidelines observing? How can an injured basic pass their PFT if they are unable to get minimum? How do they decide who gets a medical turnback and who gets to stay?

I think they can miss 8 days of BCT -- and by miss -- not participate at all; by being on the sidelines and not doing some physical stuff but participating in the rest they are still participating.

At this point BCT is over -- if they have a blue belt on now and you haven't heard from them that there is a problem, they are fine and will be accepted into the wing on Tuesday.

Case by case basis...depending on what training is missed etc...if they miss too much training they will be removed from BCT, and start over next year. (I don't remember if they have to recompete for a slot or are automatically re enrolled)

For PFT there are waivers etc, testing based on which items can be accomplished...but the waivers are only for a limited time...same thing applies in the real AF.

They are called medical turnbacks and have a guaranteed slot for the following year pending medical clearance.
