I received a Type 7 Scholarship from AFROTC. I already have tuition and fees billed by my school and I was wondering, how exactly will my scholarship pay for it all? If it makes any difference, my payment deadlines are on 9/20 but my AFROTC Orientation is on 9/25.

Thanks in advance.

The AF won't pay your tuition money to the college until after you have passed the PFT and signed some paperwork in the Detachment. Your best bet would be to call the Detachment and see if they can help you get an extension from the college on your tuition due date or whether the Detachment is offering the PFT earlier than orientation. If that doesn't work then you may need to call the college and inform them of your circumstances and ask if you can get an extension on your tuition due date. As a last resort you may unfortunately have to pay the tuition bill and wait for reimbursement. Most colleges offer some payment plan that allows you to make 9 or 10 equal payments so if you can sign-up for one of those then you may not be too much out of pocket when/if the AF finally pays your tuition.

Good Luck!:thumb:

For our DS the bursar had on record that he was an AFROTC scholarship recipient. They never locked him out. As agagles stated contact your bursar to see if they have it on record.

You have a month before arriving, use this time to practice the PFT everyday in every type of weather so you can pass right off the bat.

When my daughter first attended college (freshman) the school had no idea she was even in AFROTC let alone on the AFROTC HSSP. DD requested the Detachment secretary to send a list to the bursars office and that bought us a month or two after school started. Fortunately she passed the PFT on the first attempt. YMMV
