Congresswoman Duckworth

Sorry.... its old news. I just saw this and was blown away

Duckworth

'On the other side of the coin' she is one of 14 that walked out during the testimony of the Benghazi victim parents. You should look at her facebook page. She is appropriately being ripped by many veterans.

I don't think the article is ENTIRELY accurate.

But what do you expect, the Congress creates incentives to fall into preferred categories. If he qualifies.... go for it. It's not his fault. It may certainly be distasteful, but that's what we get for openning that door.

And an old thread on this site:

Like I said on this previous thread, I may not agree with all of her positions, but good for her to give this guy the reaming he deserves.

Is it legal, LITS? Sure, and we're all told to take advantage of the loop holes in the system. Is it slimy as heck? You betcha, and getting rid of those loop holes should be a priority.

Get rid of loopholes? Get ride of the entire system. Why should a veteran-owned business get preferential treatment?

"They've earned it!"

No they haven't. They earned their pay. They earned their associated benefits. I MIGHT be willing to say they've earned their veterans preference for federal positions. But a veteran-owned private business? No, they haven't "earned" that, any more than any other business owner.

The more programs we have like this, or subsidies or tax-breaks, the more we'll see these kinds of programs. And you know who suffers? REAL business owners, and the end-users who have to settle with a "also ran" business that has preferential treatment.
