Just returned from Annapolis doing a CVW:confused:. Everyone was very helpful and many questions answered. Wondering what the past experience has been with candidates which attended a CVW and then what happened in the future, i.e. LOA, denials etc.

Our DS was invited to and attended a CVW, loved the experience but unfortunately did not receive an appointment. As stated many times before on this forum, a CVW is a "good sign" that you're a competitive candidate but it does not indicate an appointment is assured.

Out of curiosity, did your DS have a nom and would you mind sharing his stats?

DS just went to last weekend's CVW. Good experience for him and confirmed his desire to attend the NA. Presidential Nomination and application complete. Just awaiting DODMERB medical thumbs up and possible MOC nomination. The waiting game has begun!

++1 Same for my DS - CVW, highly competitive, Nom, QNS to USNA. He did receive an appointment to USMA.

There are many factors that weigh into an appointment including other candidates in your district/region. A CVW is an encouraging sign but guarantees nothing. Keep Plan B in motion.
