I submitted my ACT scores to the Academy about a week ago. I selected my scores online on the ACT website and searched for the Academy's code. I then selected my scores from my June test and submitted them. It has been over a week and my online application portal still says it has not received the scores. How often does the Academy receive scores? Since they were sent electronically I thought they would get them immediately.

I have the same problem! I submitted mine about 3.5 weeks ago and they still aren't received.

Scores come in by disc which are usually received on a weekly basis. This is a case where you should definitely call your USAFA counselor and ask. The USAFA counselors have a tool to check your latest score updates.

My portal has still not been updated with my ACT scores. It has almost been a month. My USAFA counselor said that they usually receive them
within a couple weeks. Not sure what to do.

Here's what we were told....DS's scores were sent directly from ACT in Dec and Apr. When he contacted his admissions counselor because his scores weren't posted, she told us that USAFA does not post scores until YOU contact them and tell them to search for them (using your social security number). Once we asked, they were posted immediately.

HTH

So I should email my counselor and tell her to search for them? The thing is.. I already emailed her and she told me that they receive scores every few weeks and they will get mine then. I assumed she would have told me to ask her to search for them if that were the case. Hmmm.

Can only tell you what we were told (I actually have the explanation in an email) and I have to say that I thought it a bit odd but yes, I would ask her to search for them if you took the test awhile ago like my son did.

good luck!

That does seem like a long time. We had DS's scores sent right from the College Board (June test date) and when he started his application this summer the scores popped up on his portal.
Are you applying early for the Nov 1 deadline? You may want to give it another week and then check with the Academy again.

ACT score reporting time

this is based on recently doing the ACT score posting. When scores were sent to Naval Academy by "quick delivery" they were posted within a week, when sent to Air Force by "normal delivery" tried to save some $$, it took a month for the scores to show up on the application web site. Generally comparing the Air Force to Naval, the Air Force application moved faster otherwise.

My D submitted hers back in May and they still weren't showing 2 weeks ago. She called and talked to her admissions counselor and the IT Dept had received them but she said she had to transfer them over to my Ds portal. She did that while they were on the phone. I'd say call and follow-up on it.

I have tried emailing my counselor, but she has not responded. Is this due to the government shutdown? Would calling be better?

My daughter emailed her counselor with no response either. She finally called and got her on the first try. Not sure why she never got an email response but calling did the job. You'd think email would be more convenient for them though.

Calling is definitely more effective, because you have immediate contact and will see your results sooner. However, it is completely possible that because of the shutdown your counselor isn't working, but you would be able to figure this out through a phone call as well. Good luck!

My DD's high school information was sent to USAFA on two separate occasions with nothing showing up on her portal. Finally, DD emailed admissions to see if her school was possibly sending her information to the wrong address. DD got a very quick response saying they had received the information and it would be processed soon. Her portal was updated with all of her schools information, GPA, test scores, etc that same day. The email worked!
