Is it okay to contact your RC to ask where your standings are in your congressional district? Or is this improper or not advisable?

My DS was told by his RC of his rank/status during a campus visit in October last year. He told him the areas that could improve his standing and then kept him updated as new information and SAT scores came in. He was upfront with his ranking up until about the Feb/March timeframe when the BFEs started going out. After that he said he could not let him know his rank.

RC....

It can be beneficial. If you can arrange a meeting with your RC or one of his assistance, when they are in your area, they can review you file with them in more detail. They have much more information available than your FFR. It will also place a name to a face.

Good Luck!

I think a lot of it will depend on your relationship with your RC. If you've never contacted them, probably not the best way to start off. It also doesn't do much good until the nominations are in. You could be #1, but a principal nom takes the spot. Likewise, you could be #3 and the first two get nominations somewhere else.
