LOA

Can you still receive an LOA if you have been preliminarily D'QD by DoDMERB?

We don't really tender LOA offers once the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board (CCEB) convenes, which it did last week, but we will tender conditional appointments to medically disqualified applicants. About 30% of our incoming class will require a medical waiver for some disqualifying condition, so it's not unusual at all and the CCEB actually doesn't even know an applicant's medical status when conducting their review.

patellar dislocation

Greetings,

Can anyone advise if a patellar dislocation is grounds for a MERB DQ? The regulation reads something to the effect...history of any knee dislocation.... There are both a true knee dislocation..very severe..and the much more common. .less severe patellar dislocation.

Dislocated patella in sports injury over 15 months ago....no ligament damage and all intact...no lose or foreign object...no derangement....physical therapy eigt sessions then released back to unrestricted actvity. ..no brace required.

Playing competive high school varsity and select club travel sports with no pain or any reoccurrence.

The question is...and sorry it took so long to get here..... Does the USCCG or UCG grant waivers for this type of past injury??

Offered appointment early november during EA1...... Thanks in advance.....
