Has anyone had any experience dropping down to a part time student while in AROTC? I am not doing so hot in a class and am worried I will fail, I'd rather drop it than have it bring down my GPA. However, if I drop this class I will drop down to 9 credits and will not be considered a full time student. It will not affect my graduation date though because I am ahead credit wise.

Others can chime in here but from my experance you need to be a full time student to be a cadet. Go talk to your cadre, they may be able to help work something out, I've know of cdts who had to drop the program for verious reasons, some to go part time, who just came back into the progam a semester laster. If you are an MS1/2 and noncontracted that should be pretty easy. Again talk to your cadre
If you are a scholarship cadet or a contracted cadet you will need to maintain the full time status. Like the above poster said, if you are a non contracted MS1 or MS2 then it should not be a problem, you should have a talk with your cadre before you make any decision.

Agree with the above. You need to be full-time. Further, I believe you are required to consult with your cadre prior to dropping any class, and certainly prior to dropping a class that will cause you to become part time. Also, cadrfe may be able to arrange tutoring for you or at least point you in the right direction.
